Women's Soccer sweeps opening exhibition series with double shut-out

Rebecca Singer earned two shut-outs in her first two games back after injury
The Lancer women's soccer program opened the 2010 season in convincing fashion with a pair of shut-out victories over Bowling Green State University and the University of Rio Grande.

In a 3-0 win on Friday over Bowling Green, the Lancers got goals from Candice Garrod, Kelly Ricardi and Sara Kox

Danielle St. Germain and Rebecca Singer shared the goaltending duties to earn the team's first shut-out of the season.

On Saturday, the Lancers were again outstanding as they shut down the Rio Grande offence in a convincing 5-0 win.

Third year midfielder Bridget Jeffray was outstanding, registering her first hat trick of the season. Heather Daichendt and Candice Garrod scored the other two Lancer goals, while Singer and St. Germain again split the goaltending duties.

The Lancers exhibition season will continue on August 28th when they face Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan at noon.
