Two Windsor Lancers have been recognized by the OUA this week for their standout performances over the weekend.
Women's soccer and hockey player
Krystin Lawrence has been named the OUA's Female Athlete of the Week, while Football running back
Beau Lumley has been named the OUA Football Offensive Player of the Week.
It was a busy weekend for first-year Lawrence who plays on both the women's hockey and soccer teams. If playing four games in 41 hours over the weekend wasn't impressive enough, Lawrence made an impact in each game. On Saturday alone, she was the winning goalkeeper in Windsor's 5-1 soccer victory against Brock, and then scored the game winning goal in her team's hockey game against the nationally-ranked Laurier Golden Hawks. She followed that up on Sunday by posting a shutout in her team's other soccer match, a 0-0 draw against McMaster. Over the course of the weekend, Lawrence and her Lancer teammates went 3-0-1.
On the field, running back Lumley played a huge role in his team's playoff-clinching win against the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Lumley was effective both as a running back and receiving option, rushing for 91 yards and a touchdown on nine carries, and adding 99 yards on six catches to his totals. Lumley is averaging 75 rushing yards per game this season.
Congratulations Krystin and Beau!
