Men's HockeyThe Lancer men's hockey team returns home after being on the road for two and a half weeks. Riding a three game win streak, the No. 9 Lancers are undefeated on the season heading into this weekend.

Windsor will play host to the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday night and the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday night. Both games are slated for 7:30pm at South Windsor Arena and can be seen live at
www.oua.tv.

Goaltender Parker Van Buskirk made 32 saves, and Saverio Posa scored a late third period goal to pace the Lancer men's hockey squad to a 3-2 victory over Waterloo at the Columbia Icefield Arena on Friday night. On Saturday, the Lancers kept their win streak alive with a 2-1 win over the Gryphons. It was Windsor's second win over Guelph this season after defeating them 4-2 on opening night at home.

The Golden Hawks are also undefeated on the year having only played one game thus far, a 4-3 win over the Lakehead Thunderwolves last weekend. Toronto split a pair of games and is 1-1-0 on the year.

FootballThe Windsor Lancer Football team clinched a playoff berth for the fourth consecutive year with a 39-29 win over the visiting Ottawa Gee Gees on Friday night at Alumni Field.

With the victory, the Lancers move to 5-1 on the season, and are now ranked #10 in the CIS Top Ten. Â This is the fourth consecutive season the Lancers have qualified for the post season under the guidance of head coach
Joe D'Amore.

Tai Pham also made Lancer history in the win becoming Windsor's all-time leader in career sacks with 17.5.

Windsor will head up to the nation's capital this weekend to face the Carleton Ravens (3-3) who lost to the Guelph Gryphons last weekend 24-14. In their previous meeting in 2013, the Lancers dominated the Ravens 44-14 in Carleton's first season back in the OUA.

Lancer fifth year quarterback Austin Kennedy is currently 5 passing touchdowns away from break the OUA career record in that category. It is currently help by Josh Sacobie from Queen's (2004-2008) with 79.

Women's HockeyThe Lancer women's hockey team opened the 2014-15 season with pair of wins over the Waterloo Warriors and No. 7 Laurier Golden Hawks last weekend at South Windsor Arena.

Windsor defeated the visiting Waterloo Warriors 3-2 in their OUA season opener on Friday night and followed that up with a solid 2-1 win over the ranked Hawks.

The Lancers will now hit the road for an extended road trip that spans five games over the next three weeks. Windsor will return home on Friday November 7th when they host the York Lions at 7:30pm.

This weekend they will head up the 401 to London for a lone game against the Western Mustangs on Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm. Windsor lost both of last year's matches to the Mustangs are will be looking to get back in the win column against the Purple & White. Â

Men's & Women's SoccerEntering their final week of the regular season, both Lancer soccer teams have qualified for the post season but are looking to secure their positions in the standings.

The Lancer women are looking to lock into fourth place and host a home playoff game. One win this weekend will do that and the Lancers would then host a first round game on Wednesday October 22nd.

As it currently stands the Lancer men can finish anywhere from third to fifth. A third or fourth place finish will guarantee them a home playoff game, also on Wednesday October 22nd.

Both teams will face the York Lions and Guelph Gryphons this week. Earlier this year the Lancer women fell to the Lions 5-1 and edged the Gryphons 1-0 at home. The Lancer men fell to both opponents 3-0 and 3-2 respectively.

Men's & Women's Volleyball The Lancer Volleyball program opens up the 2014-15 regular season this weekend on the road. Both teams will take on the McMaster Marauders in Hamilton on Saturday, and the Lancer women will face the Brock Badgers on Sunday.
Â
Both teams have had extensive exhibition schedules and are eager to get the season underway.
Â
The women return OUA all-star Shannon Dean, who has been named a tournament all-star twice in the pre-season, outside hitter Hannah Robson, and third year setter Danielle Lenarduzzi. Windsor will also be looking at rookies Corie Sears and Richelle Brown who have had exceptional pre-seasons thus far.

On the men's side, the Lancers return middle Adam Thomson, outside hitter Chad Hinchey and middle Paul Borger for their fifth and final season with the Blue & Gold. The team will also rely on four year Libero Blase Wasser, outside hitters Shawn Reaume and Greg Simone.
