MacKnight captures OUA scoring title

Windsor Lancers Women's Hockey standout Jenny MacKnight made progam history on the weekend as she became the first Lancer women's hockey player to ever win the OUA Provincial individual scoring title.

The Regina, SK native had a sensational regular season for the Lancers as she registered 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points in 24 games. The fourth year Environmental Studies major, who was also second in the nation overall in scoring, finished six points ahead of her nearest competitior in the OUA.

In addition to her OUA scoring title, MacKnight also finished 4th in the CIS in game-winning goals with four and 9th in the country in power-play markers with five. Her 15 goals scored also ranked her fifh in the nation.

MacKnight was part of one of the most potent scoring lines in the country alongside fellow fourth year senior Bree Polci and second year standout Erinn Noseworthy. Polici, a London native finished third in the OUA and seventh in the CIS in scoring with 32 points while Noseworthy led the OUA and finished third in the CIS in goals scored with 16.

MacKnight and the Lancers finished 5th in the conference in the regular season and will now take on the Queen's Gaels in the OUA Quarter-Finals later this week. Game 1 is set for Thursday night at 7:30pm at South Windsor Arena.
