Seguin named OUA West Player of the Year

The Windsor Lancers are proud to announce that Kaila Seguin has been named the OUA West Division Player of the Year, as announced by Ontario University Athletics on Wednesday.

Joining Seguin as an OUA first team all-star is second year outside hitter Shannon Dean, while first year Emily McClosky was named to the OUA west all-rookie team.

Seguin, a fifth-year middle, led the third place Windsor Lancers with 4.07 points per set and a league-high 265 kills. Seguin also posted 189 digs. The honour is Seguin's third of her career; she was named to the OUA second team in 2012 and was an all-rookie in 2010. This is the first time in Lancer history that a student-athlete has been named the OUA west player of the year.

After being named an OUA all-rookie a year ago, Dean avoided the sophomore slump in 2014. Dean's 3.54 points per set finished just shy of the league top ten and she led the Lancers with 0.63 blocks per set.

A native of Maidstone, ON, McClosky had a tremendous first year for the Blue & Gold. She finished the season with 41 kills, 65 digs, 50 points, and a 27% kill percentage.

Congratulations Lancers!
