The Windsor Lancers are pleased to announce that standout forward Jenny MacKnight has been named the Ontario University Women's Hockey Player of the Year, as announced by Ontario University Athletics.
 
The fourth year forward had an outstanding year for the Lancers as she became the first women's hockey player in school history to be honoured as the OUA provincial player of the year.

The Regina, Sask. native topped the OUA in scoring with 40 points which also ranked her second overall in Canada. Her 25 assists topped the league as well and her 15 goals on the year were second most in the province. She also ranked 5th in the CIS in game-winning goals with four and ninth in the country in power play goals with five.
 
MacKnight led a potent Windsor offence that topped the CIS with 85 goals scored this season. The award is the first postseason honour for MacKnight in her career, and she was also named an OUA first team all-star.
 
Fourth year defenseman and assistant captain Kayla Dodson was also honoured as an OUA all-star. In her fourth season with the Lancers, Dodson accumulated 14 points in 24 games to rank 4th amongst defensemen in the OUA and 6th among CIS defensemen in scoring.  Throughout her CIS career, she has registered 7 goals, 28 assists and 35 points in 102 games.
