Mike Havey, Director of Athletics at the University of Windsor is pleased to announce that
Adam Wagner has been named the new head coach of the Lancer Golf program. In addition, Ambassador Golf Club will serve as the new home of Lancer golf starting in the 2014 fall season.

A native of London, Ontario, Wagner is currently the Head Golf Professional at Ambassador Golf Club. He takes over the Lancer golf program from Ryan Hughes who has since moved on to a new position with the Rochester Place Golf Resort.

Adam started his career in the golf business as an assistant professional at Essex Golf & Country Club in LaSalle where he spent two seasons. Following that he was named the associate professional at Bigwin Island Golf Club in Muskoka for two seasons.Â

After four seasons out west at Silver Springs Golf and Country Club, he returned back to Windsor to take over as the associate professional at Beach Grove Golf & Country Club where he spent two seasons.Â
Â
He has completed all stages of the CPGA Apprenticeship program including teaching and coaching certification and is a Class "A" member of the PGA of Canada. Adam was also nominated by his peers for the PGA of Ontario Professional Development of the year award in 2012 and is currently a member of the PGA of Canada National Evaluation team.

Coach Wagner is excited to have the chance to lead the Lancer Golf program starting this fall.

"I am very excited to be the new head coach of the Lancer Golf program and to be part of a new home for the team here at the Ambassador Golf Club," commented Wagner. "We are looking forward to the opportunity to develop of our student-athletes both on and off the course and hope to build a team that can compete for OUA provincial championships in the years to come."

Wagner also announced the addition of Randy McQueen as a new assistant coach for the Lancer golf team. Randy is currently the Head Golf Professional at Roseland Golf Club and has been extensively involved in junior golf in the region.

"I'm thrilled to have Randy on board as part of the Lancer Golf coaching staff," added Wagner. "His experience and commitment to junior golf is something that will greatly benefit our team as we move forward."

The Lancer Golf team, under Coach Wagner's direction, will hold team try-outs on Wednesday, September 3rd at 4:30pm at Ambassador Golf Club. All interested players are required to contact Adam in advance.
