Lancer Clothing Drive
It's that time of year again! The Lancer Holiday Clothing Drive kicks off this Friday night, November 13th and runs until Saturday, November 21st, 2015. The Department of Athletics will be accepting winter coat donations and other clothing items for local families in need this holiday season. All items in good condition will be accepted – this year, children's winter coats are in high demand!
 
Anyone who makes a donation will also receive a ballot for a chance to win a Lancer Holiday Prize Pack. The winner will be announced at the Lancer Basketball doubleheader vs. Toronto on November 21st.  For more information, contact the athletic department at (519)253-3000 ext. 2447. Happy Holidays!
 
Women's Basketball
The Lancers are looking to get back on the winning side of the bracket after a heartbreaking loss to the Western Mustangs last weekend. With the loss, the Lancers dropped to 10th place in the CIS rankings and 2nd in the OUA West. The Blue and Gold are set to close out their home games for the first half of the season this Wednesday and Saturday against the Ryerson Rams and the Toronto Varsity Blues, respectively. The Rams are currently undefeated in regular season play and are ranked 3rd in the CIS. The Blues are 1-2 in regular season play, good for third in the OUA East behind Queen's and Ryerson. Game time Wednesday is set for 6:00pm, and Saturday's tip-off is at 2:00pm.
 
Men's Basketball
The men's basketball team dropped to 2-1 on the season after a tough loss to the visiting Western Mustangs last Friday. Despite a fourth quarter surge that brought the Lancers within 8pts, the Mustangs proved to be too much to handle and came away with the 83-63 victory. The team will look to regroup and close out their 2015 home games against the #5 Ryerson Rams on Wednesday and the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday. The Rams remain undefeated in OUA play with a 3-0 record while the Blues sit at 1-2. Tip off for Wednesday's game against Ryerson is 8pm, and Saturday's game with kick off at 4pm. Don't forget to bring your gently used winter clothing to donate to the Lancer Clothing Drive. Each donation will earn you a chance to win a Lancer Holiday Prize pack. The winner will be selected at the half time of the men's basketball game on Nov. 21. 
 
Women's Hockey
After a weeklong break the women's hockey team was rested, rejuvenated and ready for a double header last Friday and Saturday when they hosted the York Lions and the Guelph Gryphons. The Lancers hit the win column on Friday with a 3-2 double overtime victory against the Lions but were unable to defeat the Gryphons on Saturday afternoon and are now 0-6-1-1 on the season. The Blue and Gold hit the road this weekend in search of their second win, facing off against the Queens Gaels on Friday and the UOIT Ridgebacks on Saturday. Queens sits atop the OUA standings with a record of 6-1-1-1 and UOIT is three spots ahead of the Lancers with a record of 2-1-6-0. Puck drops are both set for 7:30pm.
 
Men's Hockey
The 6-4-2 Lancers are looking to rebound after a pair of losses on the road this past weekend. Friday, the Lancers faced off against the Brock Badgers in St. Catherines and suffered a 3-2 loss before dropping their game on Saturday 2-1 to the host York Lions. This weekend, the Lancers host the Lakehead Thunderwolves in a pair of games set to kick off on Friday at 7:30pm; Saturday's puck drop is also set for 7:30pm. Lakehead currently sits in last place in the OUA with a 0-9-1 record and Windsor is in third in the OUA West, four points behind the first place Western Mustangs.
 
Women's Volleyball
The women's volleyball team continues their winning ways with a pair of victories this past weekend on home court. The Lancers now sit at 4-2 on the season and are tied with McMaster and Western for 1st place in the OUA West with 8 points apiece.  On Saturday, the Lancers defeated the Queen's Gaels in 5 exciting sets before they dominated the visiting RMC Paladins on Sunday in 4 sets. This weekend, the Lancers hit the road to play the Waterloo Warriors and the #10 McMaster Marauders. Waterloo currently holds a record of 3-3, which places them tied for fourth in the OUA West. The Lancers and Warriors will kick off the weekend Friday at 6pm in Waterloo. The CIS 10th ranked, 4-1 Marauders will host the Lancers on Saturday at 6pm in a battle for 1st in the OUA West.
 
Men's Volleyball
The men's volleyball team split their weekend games against the Queens Gaels and RMC Paladins. On Saturday despite strong play from the Lancers they dropped the match 3-1 to the visiting Gaels. On Sunday, the Lancers dominated the RMC Paladins, defeating them in straight sets to earn their first win of the season. This weekend, the Blue and Gold hit the road to face the Waterloo Warriors and CIS #1 ranked McMaster Marauders on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Waterloo is currently tied for third in the OUA with 8 points and a 4-3 record while McMaster remains perfect with a 7-0 record. Both games are set to begin at 8pm.
