Women's Basketball

Kicking off a busy weekend of Lancer sport, the women's basketball team will head up the 401 to face off against the Ottawa Gee Gees and Carleton Ravens on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The No. 9 Lancers are coming off an exciting week of play after upsetting the No. 3 ranked Ryerson Rams on Wednesday night before dominating the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday to close out their 2015 home games. On Wednesday after trailing the entire game the Lancers battled back, outscoring the Rams 31-11 in the fourth quarter to seal the 95-79 victory. Andrea Kiss was stellar for the Lancers, finishing the game with 29 points and 17 rebounds for her second double-double of the year. On Saturday, the Lancers finished off their 2015 home games against the Toronto Varsity Blues. A quick three to start the game put the Lancers in the lead and they never looked back, on route to a convincing 96-60 win. With the two victories, the Lancers currently sit at 4-1 on the season and continue to hold onto first place in the OUA West. This weekend, the Lancers will close out the first half of their season in the nation's capital when they face the Ottawa Gee Gees on Friday and the Carleton Ravens on Saturday. Both games are at 6:00pm and can be watched online at www.oua.tv.

Men's Basketball

The men's Basketball team will look to notch a couple more upsets as they head to Ottawa to face the No. 1 Gee Gee's on Friday, and the No. 2 Carleton Ravens on Saturday. Game times are both set for 8pm and can be viewed on www.oua.tv. This past week the Lancers proved that they are a force to be reckoned with, upsetting the No. 5 Ryerson Rams before knocking off the Toronto Varsity Blues in their final home stand for the first half of the season. On Wednesday, the Lancers improved to a 3-1 record after defeating the Ryerson Rams 81-67. Windsor was led by Alex Campbell who notched his second double-double with a game high 25 points and 14 rebounds. Rookies Randy Oriahki and Isiah Osborne continue to shine for the Lancers, notching 12 points and 11 rebounds, and 16 points, respectively. On Saturday, the Lancers kept their fans on the edge of their seats, narrowly defeating the Toronto Varsity Blues 89-88. Campbell continued to dominate for the Lancers, scoring the winning basket with 9.5 seconds to go and recording 26 points, 6 assists and 5 boards.

Men's Hockey

This past weekend, the Lancers hosted the Lakehead Thunderwolves in double header action. On Friday, the Blue and Gold had a stellar showing, shutting out the visiting team 2-0. Dylan Seguin and Dylan Denomme were the goal scorers for the Lancers, and Blake Richard recorded the shutout victory. Unfortunately on Saturday Windsor was unable to earn the sweep as they fell 5-2 to the Wolves. With the loss, the Lancers fall to 7-5-2 and sit in third place in the OUA west division while the Thunderwolves picked up their first win of the season on Saturday and improve to 1-10-1. Mike Christo and Tyson Ness recorded goals for the Lancers in the loss.

The Men's Hockey team will hit the road for the last time in 2015 to face off against the Waterloo Warriors on Friday and the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday. Friday's game is set for 7pm, and Saturday's puck drop is at 7:30pm. The Lancers will play their final regular season game before the holiday break on Wednesday night when they host the Western Mustangs at 7:30pm at South Windsor Arena.

Women's Hockey

This past Friday, the women's hockey team fell to the Queen's Gaels 4-1 before dropping a 5-3 decision to the UOIT Ridgebacks on Saturday. With the losses, the Lancers continue to remain in last place in the OUA standings with a 0-1-8-1 record. The score was kept close on Friday heading into the final period with the Gaels leading the Lancers 1-0. However, some quick play and sharp shooting ultimately lifted the home team past the Lancers. Larissa Borowiec scored the lone goal for the Blue and Gold. On Saturday, the host Ridgebacks scored four goals in the final twenty minutes to earn the victory. Lancer goal scorers were Shailyn Waites, Krystin Lawrence and captain Erinn Noseworthy.

Looking to close out the first half of their season with a pair of wins, the Lancers will host the Brock Badgers on Friday night and the Gaels on Saturday. Puck drop for both games is set for 7:30pm and can be viewed on www.oua.tv.

Women's Volleyball

Last weekend, the women's volleyball team split a pair of road games against the Waterloo Warriors and the No. 1 McMaster Marauders. On Friday, the Lancers swept the host Warriors in three straight sets 26-24, 25-14 and 25-13. The first match set the tone for the night as Lancer Lauren Sterling scored four straight points to secure the 26-24 victory. From there, the Lancers dominated their opponents and walked away with their 4th straight victory. On Saturday, the Blue & Gold was hoping to notch their second upset of the season against the host Marauders. However, strong play by McMaster built their momentum which carried them through all three sets, handing the Lancers their third loss of the season. The Lancers currently sit at a record of 5-3, tied with the Western Mustangs for second place in the OUA West. The Lancers will close out the first half of their season on home court against the Western Mustangs on Saturday, in a battle for second place. Game time is at 6:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.

Men's Volleyball

The men's volleyball team will host a pair of games at home this weekend to close out the first half of the season. Windsor will host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night at 7:00pm, followed by the Ryerson Rams on Saturday night at 8:00pm. The Lancers currently sit at a record of 1-7 after a pair of losses this past weekend on the road. On Friday, the men faced off against the host Waterloo Warriors. Despite a lancer's second set victory, the Warriors defeated the visitors 3-1. Windsor was led by fifth year Josh Edwards with 15 kills and 16.5 points, and Joh Moate with 9 kills and 10.5 points. Defensively, Matthew De Benito had 9 kills, while Blasé Wasser and Sean Reaume each had 8. On Saturday, the top ranked Marauders proved to be too much for Windsor to handle, as they came away with the 3 set victory. Reaume led the Blue & Gold with 7 kills.
