Track & Field impressive at three meets

The nationally ranked track & field team had a busy weekend competing at three separate meets over the weekend. The Lancers traveled throughout North America and competed at the York Open in Toronto, the Midwest Open at Spire, and the Armory Invitational in New York.
 
In Toronto the Blue & Gold captured 14 medals including four golds. On the women's side, Jen Tomayer captured her second straight gold in the pole vault with a height of 3.76m.
 
Sarah Swain qualified for the national championships and took home the gold in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.54 seconds, while the 4x200m relay team of Jalicia Clarke, Mariah Wilson, Jaida Akins and Tichina Jones placed first with a time of 1:42.32.
 
On the men's side, Andre Wright finished the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.36 seconds to place first overall.
 
At Spire, Windsor won six medals including Arren Young who came home with the Lancers lone gold medal in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.96m.
 
In New York at the Armory Invitational, Alex Ullman captured a bronze medal in the men's 1000m with a time of 2:26.01.

Windsor will compete as a complete team for the remainder of the season starting next week at Hilldale, Michigan and culminating at the CIS Championships at the St. Denis Centre in March.
