The Windsor Lancers are pleased to announce that five members of the women's soccer program have been recognized by the OUA for their outstanding play during the 2016 season.
 
In just her first season in OUA, Windsor Lancers midfielder Abby Hunt (Macclesfield, England) took the league by storm and has been named OUA West Division Most Valuable Player and a first-team all-star.  Hunt, who played for Faillibroome Academy before joining the Lancers prior to this season, finished second on the team with eight goals while appearing in 15 games and becomes the first Lancer to be named MVP.
 
Joining Hunt as OUA West Division first-team all-stars is goaltender Krystin Lawrence (Tecumseh, Ont.) and defender Keely Baggio (Chatham, Ont.).
 
Lawrence, who splits her time between the Lancers women's soccer and women's hockey teams, finished the year with a 0.64 goals against average to go along with a .833 save percentage.  The Tecumseh, Ont. native recorded shutouts in 50% of her starts with six clean sheets in 12 games.
 
Along with Lawrence, Baggio is a major reason the Lancers only allowed 10 goals against during the regular season, as the second-year bio-science & biotechnology major anchored the Lancers back line.
 
Lancers midfielder Giulia Barile (Tecumseh, Ont.) and forward Becca Fuerth (Woodslee, Ont.) are OUA all-stars for the second time in as many seasons as the pair have once again been named to the second-team.
