Three Lancers selected in 2016 CFL Draft

For the first time in program history, the Lancer football team has had three athletes chosen in the same CFL entry draft. OL Randy Beardy, FB Nate O'Halloran, & LB Frank Renaud were each selected in the 2016 CFL draft Tuesday night.

Beardy was the first Lancer chosen being selected 43rd overall by the Ottawa Redblacks in the 5th round. The fourth year bio-chemistry major was named the team's Lineman of the Year following the 2015 season.

Selected in the 7th round, O'Halloran was selected 57th overall by the BC Lions.  The fourth year fullback had 14 receptions in 2015 for 187 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite missing the 2015 season due to injury, Renaud was chosen by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the 63rd pick of the night. In 2014, Renaud was named an OUA all-star following a standout season for the Blue & Gold. He led the team with 36 total tackles, had 2 sacks, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, 3 break-ups, and a block.

Congratulations Lancers!
