Stefanie Smith set two new team records, and Team Blue won the Lancers annual Blue & Gold Inter-Squad meet this week at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.
 
On both occasions, Smith broke her own records that she set back in 2015. On day one of the competition, the fifth year runner ran an outstanding 9:23.89 in the women's 3000m, to qualify for the U SPORTS championships in March.
 
She then followed that up with another tremendous run in the women's 1500m, where she ran a 4:22.94, a one second improvement on her 2015 record that qualified her for the U SPORTS championships.
 
Also qualifying for the national championships that will be hosted in Windsor, was thrower Sarah Mitton who threw an impressive 15.72m in the women's shot put.
 
The Lancers will now break for the Christmas holidays, and will return to action on January 12-13, 2018 when they host the Can Am Classic at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.
