Lancer men's soccer head coach Steve Hart is pleased to announce the commitment of three stand-out recruits to the men's soccer program for the 2012-13 season.
 
The trio includes local standouts Kyle Vizirakis from St. Joseph's Catholic High School and Jamar Kelly from Riverside High School. Rounding out the group is international student Jack Sargent from Liverpool, England.
 
Vizirakis and Kelly have been teammates for a number of years with Windsor Hellenic, the Windsor FC Nationals, and the Windsor Stars. Together, they captured the U18 Ontario championship with the Hellenic squad, and placed second overall in the OYSL lead in 2010 with the FC Nationals.
 
A 6'4” goalkeeper, Vizirakis was named the team MVP in 2010 and 2012 with St. Joe's, and also was named the team's most dedicated player in 2010 and 2011.
 
As a central defender, 5'9” Kelly was named an all-star in 2011 with Riverside.
 
Vizirakis will study in the Odette School of Business in the fall, while Kelly will study criminology.
 
Sargent will cross the pond and join the Lancers as a midfielder. An established soccer player, he was the captain of his high school team at St. Margaret's High School, as well as captain for his club team at the Accrington Stanley Centre of Excellence.
 
While at Accrington, Sargent was named player of the year for two straight seasons.
 
Coach Hart is extremely excited about the incredible talent in this incoming group of athletes.
 
“Vizirakis and Kelly are two of the best athletes coming out of Essex County,” said Hart. “We have been after Kyle for two years now, and Jamar is a great addition as we originally thought he was heading across the border.”
 
“Jack is also going to become a key addition to our squad at midfield,” continued Hart. “All three of these athletes are looking at long careers as Lancers.”
