Lucas Hodgson

Lucas Hodgson is the head coach of the Windsor Lancers women’s volleyball program.

Considered to be one of the top coaches and recruiters in the OUA, Lucas previously served as the head coach of the Brock University Women’s Volleyball program for seven seasons prior to arriving in Windsor.

After taking over the Badgers program midway through the 2003-04 season, he built the Brock women’s volleyball team into a perennial contender in the OUA West Division. In 2008-09, Coach Hodgson was named the OUA West Coach of the Year after leading the Badgers to a 14-5 overall record, which tied the Brock school record for most victories in a single season.

In 2010-11, Hodgson’s Badgers finished at 12-7 in the OUA West Division and reached the OUA Quarter-Finals. Over his final three seasons in St. Catherine's, he led Brock University to an impressive 38-19 record (.667 winning percentage).

In addition to his work with the Badgers, Lucas also founded the Brock Volleyball Club (BVC) which helps develop elite volleyball athletes in the Niagara region. The club currently has four teams competing in the Ontario Volleyball Association.

Before taking over the Badgers, he coached at both the high school and club level in the Niagara Region. As head coach of the Governor Simcoe senior boy’s team, he led them to three straight SOSSA titles and three Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) appearances.

At the 2002 OFSAA “AA” Boy’s Volleyball Championships in Goderich, Lucas led them to a gold medal to become the first Southern Ontario (SOSSA) volleyball school to win a high school provincial championship.

At the club level, he has coached the Niagara Rapids in a variety of age categories working his way up through the ranks.

Coach Hodgson earned his Bachelor of Physical Education degree from Brock University.
