What is our vision through the BSAA for Windsor Lancers?

The Black Student-Athlete Association’s (BSAA) vision is to offer an interactive, supportive, and safe environment for Black student-athletes within Lancer Athletics. This collaborative initiative will build a unique family environment where fellow Black student-athletes can socialize, mentor, learn from, and associate with similar peers. The BSAA promotes inclusion, freedom of expression, thought, belief, opinion, and conscience, and stands against discrimination and anti-Black racism.

What is our objective through the BSAA for Windsor Lancers?

The BSAA’s mission is to create an intentional network system where accessibility and equity are common concepts for Black student-athletes. As community leaders, many of us are first-generation student-athletes looking for the appropriate tools to become successful professionals. With the right connections and support from the University of Windsor and impactful community members, the BSAA will deliver educational programs, advocacy channels, and entertainment opportunities to its student-athletes.

What core values are we portraying for Black student-athletes at the University of Windsor?

Camaraderie: Within the BSAA, our members will benefit from a friendly atmosphere promoting the enjoyment of fellowship.
Community: Through the BSAA, we will offer a space where members can develop a sense of identity through shared experiences, values, and beliefs.
Collaboration: In all initiatives introduced by the BSAA, student-athletes will be exposed to events encouraging positive communication, joint work, togetherness, and partnership.

We believe that the Black Student-Athlete Association for Windsor Lancers will positively impact the journey of past, current, and future athletes and foster an everlasting sense of belonging to the athletics community.
