The Lancer men's volleyball team saw their 2017-18 season come to an end following a 3-0 (19-25, 10-25, 16-25) loss to the fourth seed Montreal Carabins in the U SPORTS championship consolation semi-final Saturday at the Burridge Gym in Hamilton.

GAME STATS
John Moate was named Windsor's player of the game, finishing the contest with 7 kills and 7 points.
Brad Gyemi led the Blue & Gold with 9 points, 6 kills, 8 digs and two service aces.

Montreal was led by Mikaël Dagenais with 7 kills and 10 points.

GAME FLOW
The first set was a seesaw battle that saw the lead bounce back and forth between the two squads. Windsor held the game's momentum early on before it shifted to the Carabins side of the net late in the set. Huge plays from all-Canadian
John Moate and two straight aces from
Brad Gyemi kept the Blue & Gold in the set right until the end, however, Montreal was able to capitalize on a couple of Lancer attack and service errors to take the set 25-19.

Windsor held close to Montreal early in the second, but it wasn't long before the Carabins broke away and took control of the set. Windsor struggled on the attack, and the took advantage of the situation, earning a 25-10 set win.

The third saw much of the same, as the Blue & Gold fought to find some flow to their offence. Montreal's continued their impressive hitting and were able to take an early lead that they carried to a 25-16 win.

Windsor closes out a tremendous season that saw them capture their first OUA medal and have four Lancers named OUA all-stars.
John Moate became only the second Lancer ever to be named an all-Canadian, and as a team, they qualified for the national championships for the first time in program history. Congratulations gentlemen on a fantastic season!
