Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer edged by visiting Warriors

The Lancer women's soccer fought a tough battle against the visiting Waterloo Warriors but fell 1-0 on a rainy Friday night at Alumni Field.

The loss moves the blue and gold to 1-3-1 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 1-2-2.

GAME FLOW
Windsor dominated for the first fifteen minutes of the match before the Warriors got themselves back in the game, scoring with a long range rocket from Alexa Cimermancic in the 18th minute. From there, the blue and gold pressed for the next five to ten minutes before the Warriors took back over, applying pressure to the Lancer defense for the remainder of the half.

Waterloo controlled the ball for much of the second half. Windsor could not muster up enough offensive momentum to challenge the Warrior defense. Jade Samping had the Lancers best chance with a bullet toward the Waterloo net, but Warrior goaltender Morgan Berg made a diving save to preserve her team's lead.

Berg earned the clean sheet for the visiting Warriors, playing an integral role in the Waterloo's back line defense.
