The University of Windsor Lancers men's basketball team dropped a competitive matchup to the Western Mustangs, falling 80–74 on Saturday, November 22 at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
Western established the early edge with a 16–9 first quarter, but Windsor steadied in the second, matching the Mustangs' scoring to head into halftime trailing 38–31. The Lancers made several pushes in the third and fourth quarters—cutting into the Western lead multiple times—but the Mustangs maintained just enough separation down the stretch. Despite a 26-point fourth quarter surge from Windsor, Western's consistent scoring proved decisive in the closing minutes.
The teams were closely matched statistically, with Western shooting 46.9% from the field to Windsor's 34.2%, while both sides battled effectively on the glass, combining for 84 total rebounds. Windsor held a slight rebounding edge at 43–41, but Western's stronger shooting night and efficiency at the free-throw line (70.0%) helped them preserve the lead late.
Forward Luke Grace powered the Lancers with a dominant 27-point, 19-rebound performance, going 11-of-13 from the free-throw line. Emanuel Otong added 14 points and six rebounds, while Yohann Sam contributed 12 points and three assists. Off the bench, Bronson Chambers provided an important spark with 13 points and seven boards.
Western's balanced attack was led by Milan John, who finished with 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Emmanuel Akot added 15 points off the bench. Matteo Zagar posted 14 points and five rebounds, and Tye Cotie anchored the paint with a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double.
