The University of Windsor Lancers men's basketball team earned a hard-fought 65–60 comeback victory over the No. 7 nationally ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday (Nov. 29) night at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
GAME FLOW
Ottawa came out firing, pushing ahead 23–16 after the opening quarter and extending their lead to 44–34 by halftime behind efficient shooting from the perimeter. The Gee-Gees maintained control through the third, carrying a 56–44 advantage into the final frame.
From there, Windsor completely flipped the momentum. The Lancers locked in defensively, holding Ottawa to just four points in the fourth quarter while erupting 21 of their own. Timely stops, improved ball movement, and increased pressure on the glass powered the decisive surge as Windsor closed out the game on a dominant run to secure the comeback win.
STATS
Windsor was led by Yohann Sam, who poured in 23 points on 7-of-15 shooting, while adding eight rebounds and three steals in a strong two-way performance. Bronson Chambers followed with 13 points and three assists, and Luke Grace contributed 11 points along with a team-high nine rebounds. Emanuel Otong added nine points and seven boards, and Tife Obasato chipped in three points and four rebounds off the bench.
For Ottawa, Alec Phaneuf paced the Gee-Gees with 12 points, while Brock Newton and DeAndray Hamilton each supplied nine points. Owen Kenney controlled the glass with a game-high 11 rebounds, and Justin Tounkara added eight points in the loss.

With the win, the Lancers improve to 6-5 (W-L) in the regular season, returning to action in the new year after the holiday break. Windsor returns to the court on Wednesday, January 7 with a matchup against the No. 1 nationally ranked Western Mustangs in London, Ont.
