The University of Windsor Lancers men's basketball team earned a hard-fought 77–68 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday (Jan. 24) night at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
GAME FLOW
The Lancers trailed by one after the opening quarter but used a strong second quarter to take a slim 37–34 advantage into halftime. Toronto briefly regained momentum in the third, outscoring Windsor 22–16 to enter the final frame ahead by three, before the Lancers took control down the stretch. Windsor dominated the fourth quarter 24–12, locking in defensively and capitalizing at the free-throw line to secure the home victory.
Both teams were evenly matched through the first three quarters, but Windsor's late-game execution proved decisive. The Lancers shot 43.3% from the field compared to Toronto's 39.4%, and held a 39–34 edge on the glass. Windsor converted on 20-of-29 (69.0%) from the charity stripe, while Toronto went 12-of-16 (75.0%). Windsor also forced 15 Toronto turnovers, turning defensive pressure into key scoring opportunities in the final quarter.

Luke Grace led the way for the Lancers with a game-high 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting, adding 11 rebounds for a double-double performance. Yohann Sam followed closely with 21 points, knocking down three triples, while Bronson Chambers contributed 11 points and a team-best four assists. Grace's presence inside anchored Windsor's rebounding effort, and the Lancers recorded five total blocks as a team.
For Toronto, Nigel Hylton paced the offense with 21 points on an efficient 10-of-17 shooting night, while Mikey Ballout added 14 points, including three three-pointers. Nathan Bureau chipped in 10 points off the bench, but the Blues struggled to generate consistent offense in the final quarter.

With the win, Windsor improves to 9–8 overall, while Toronto falls to 8–8 on the season.
