The University of Windsor Lancers women's hockey were held scoreless in a 3–0 loss to the No. 3 nationally ranked Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday (Jan. 24) night at home, as the Lancer held their 19th annual Breast Cancer Awareness game.
Despite a strong effort and several quality chances throughout the game. Laurier capitalized on timely scoring and steady goaltending, while Windsor was unable to break through offensively.

Laurier finished with the advantage in shots, outshooting Windsor 38–25. Golden Hawks goaltender Kayla Renaud was perfect in net, turning aside all 25 shots she faced to earn the shutout victory. Windsor netminder Rebecca Noble was solid despite the loss, making 35 saves on 37 shots, with one Laurier goal coming in an empty net late in regulation. Laurier's offense was led by Elle Spencer, who scored twice, including the empty-netter, while Zoey Dupuis added the other goal. Ella Jackson contributed two assists, and Emily Olson and Kara Den Hoed each picked up an assist.
GAME FLOW
The opening period was tightly contested, with both teams trading chances early. Laurier opened the scoring in the first period when Elle Spencer finished a play set up by Ella Jackson to give the visitors a 1–0 lead heading into the first intermission.
In the second period, Windsor pushed for the equalizer and generated sustained offensive-zone pressure, but Renaud stood tall in the Laurier crease. The Golden Hawks extended their lead as Zoey Dupuis converted off a setup from Emily Olson and Kara Den Hoed to make it 2–0 going into the final frame.
Windsor continued to battle in the third period, creating chances and pressing offensively, but were unable to solve Renaud. With Noble pulled for the extra attacker late, Spencer sealed the result with an empty-net goal at 19:20, again assisted by Jackson, to secure the 3–0 final.
