Coach Plante enters his 12th season as the Defensive Line Coach for the Lancer Football program.

Mike played his post-secondary football with the Windsor AKO Fratmen in 1979 before moving over to the University of Windsor in 1981.

He played for the Lancers until 1985 where he was a started in the defensive secondary under Coach Gino Fracas.

Mike graduated from the Faculty of Education in 1985 and began his teaching career at F.J. Brennan High School where he has been the Head Coach of their Junior Football team since that time. The junior Cardinals have won six WECSAA championships during his tenure.

Plante joined Coach Morencie's staff at AKO in 1986 and coached the defensive line there until 1995.

He then moved over to coach at the University of Windsor in 1997, joining former Head Coach John Musselman's defensive staff. Coach Plante has handled the defensive line for the Lancer Football program ever since.
