Ryan Hughes

Ryan Hughes is the Head Coach of the Windsor Lancers Golf Program at the University of Windsor.

A native of Oshawa Ontario, he is entering his ninth season as the Director of Golf at Beach Grove Golf & Country Club.

At Beach Grove, he manages all aspects the golf operation for this private club. This includes creating and developing player programs for the members and community outreach programs, such as the Volunteer Adopt a Junior Program.

Also an outstanding collegiate player, his college career spanned seven years at Durham College, including four as a player and three years as a coach. 

During his time at Durham College, he collected an incredible six Provincial gold medals as a player, including two team golds and four consecutive individual titles – a record that still stands today. As a coach, he also led his Durham squad to two team gold medals in three seasons. 

To this day, Ryan remains one of the most decorated Ontario College Athletic Association athletes of all-time. He was inducted into the Durham College Hall of Fame, the Ontario College Athletic Association Hall of Fame and also the city of Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame.

Today, he continues to demonstrate his competitive fire as a Golf Professional. He has won several local mini tour events as well as club Pro Am events throughout Ontario. His most recent win was in June 2009 at the Ontario PGA Head and Assistant Professional Team championship. 

Coach Hughes prides himself on being a motivator and mentor he is excited about the future growth and development of the Lancer Golf program moving forward.
