Windsor Lancers

Tina Sharman

 A native of Amherstburg, Tina has been an integral part of the Lancer program since 2016. She brings a wealth of experience to the Lancer community and within the Windsor Essex County.
 
As a new Coaches Association of Ontario grant funded assistant coach with the track & field team, Tina dedication is to developing positive, effective interpersonal relationships with student-athletes across event groups and works towards helping athletes develop the skills they need to be successful both within and out of their sport.
 
Her athletic abilities and enjoyment for sport earned her seven OFSSAA gold medals in track & field (throws), high school records in throwing to earning a full ride scholarship to a D1, Big 10 University where she competed for two years. Upon returning to Canada, Tina competed at OUA, CIS (now U SPORTS) and was a national team member representing Canada at the international level.
 
She enjoys facilitating throws with local Special Olympic Athletes and Para Athletes as well as local and provincial high school athletes and coaches, club athletes and coaches, and masters athletes.
 
As a guest speaker, Tina shares her sports journey, as an athlete, coach and parent of athletes, while she shares athlete, coach and life lessons that sports have taught her.
 
As the throws coach with the Lancers, Tina has coached:
  • 13 OUA podium finishes
  • 8 U SPORTS podium finishes
  • All-Time Lancer Top 10:
  • Shot Put:  women x 2, men x 5
  • Weight Throw:  women x 4, men x 5
 
Sarah Mitton:
  • new school record in shot put (16.82m) set in 2018.
  • third all-time Lancer top ten in weight throw.
 
A.J. Stanat:
  • Shot put record (17.77m) in 2025
  • 2025 outdoor National Champion and Canada Summer Games Champion title.
  • A.J represented U SPORTS at FISU in 2025
  • Second all-time Lancer top ten in Weight Throw
 
During the 2024-25 varsity season, Tina was recognized and honoured to receive:
  • OUA Female Assistant Coach of the year
  • U SPORTS Female Assistant Coach of the year
  • University of Windsor Eddi Chittaro Assistant Coach of the Year Award
 
Tina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Science and completed the Coaching Certificate program from York University. She is an NCCP level 3 certified coach in throws and continues to advance her education within the NCCP program.
