Windsor Lancers

Daniel Mendonca

Daniel Mendonca is the head coach of the Lancer women’s soccer program.

Widely respected in the Windsor-Essex soccer community, Mendonca is no stranger to the Lancer soccer program. A former goaltender with the men’s program for five seasons from 2007-12, he has served as a goaltending coach/assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s programs since his graduation in 2012.

In addition to coaching the blue and gold, Mendonca is the co-founder and technical director of Last Line Goalkeeping Academy where he writes the training curriculum and performs high performance training sessions with up to 60 youth goalkeepers each year.

Mendonca is also involved with the Tecumseh Soccer Club/Nationals Canada where he spent four years as the girls academy director from 2014-2018, while also serving as head coach for the U14 & U16 teams from 2016-2018.

Coach Mendonca is thrilled and humbled to have his dream of being a head coach with the Lancers come true.

“I am excited to be able to serve as the head coach of the women’s soccer program,” said Mendonca. “After 11 years as a player and assistant coach with the Lancers, it is an honour to be able to continue my involvement and lead the success of the program moving forward. The opportunity to serve the current and future players as their coach and mentor is humbling and I look forward to providing a memorable experience to each student athlete.”

Mendonca will also be coaching and travelling alongside his older brother Ryan, who is currently the head coach of the Lancer men’s soccer team.
