Ami Schimanski set a new meet record in the women's weight throw on Saturday at the Can Am Meet. Schimanski took gold in the event with a throw of 17.02m, qualifying for the CIS National Championships in March. The record surpassed the former record of 16.55m set in 2010 with her final throw of the day.
