Miah-Marie Langlois of the Lancer Women's Basketball team captured the Banner Shield ward as the 2011-12 University of Windsor Female Athlete of the Year.

Langlois, a Windsor native, had a tremendous 2011-12 season as she was named a CIS All-Canadian and the CIS Defensive Player of the Year in Women’s Basketball while helping lead the Lancers to their second national championship title in as many years.

Also named and OUA all-star and the OUA’s defensive player of the year, Miah averaged 11.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5 assists per game while also leading the country in steals and finishing third in the nation in assists.
 
At Nationals, Miah showed why she is one of the premier players in Canada as she was named the MVP of the tournament for the second consecutive season.
