Windsor Lancers

The Lancers stunned the defending Yates Cup champions, No. 10 ranked Guelph Gryphons, thanks in large part of a dominant defensive performance from Windsor linebacker Frank Renaud (Windsor, Ont.)

Proudly representing his hometown Lancers, the fourth-year human kinetics student-athlete, finished the game with 10.5 total tackles.  His nine solo tackles tied him with fellow Lancer Daniel Metcalfe for the team lead.

Unquestionably, Renaud's biggest play came in the final minutes of the game with Guelph driving deep into Windsor territory looking to take the lead.  The 6'1" 215 lbs linebacker stripped the ball from Gryphons running back Jamal Hooker all but ending Guelph's comeback bid.

Renaud, who missed all of 2015 due to injury, now has picked up two forced fumbled in just two games to open the season.
