Women's Basketball continues to roll, knocks off Ottawa 70-53

Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team continued their hot start to the season with an impressive 70-53 victory over the Ottawa Gee Gees on Saturday night in Ottawa.

With the victory, the #3 ranked Lancers remain undefeated in conference play and sit at 4-0 in the season.

Against Ottawa, the Lancers jumped all over the home team early on, as they scored 28 points in the opening quarter and led 28-15 after one.

The Gee Gees got back in the game in the second quarter as they held Windsor to only 6 points in the quarter to cut the lead to 34-28 at half.

In the second half, the Lancers re-established their dominance at the offensive end of the court as they outscored the Gee Gees 36-25 en route to the 70-53 victory.

The Lancers got an impressive performance from rookie post Jessica Clemencon who finished with 26 points on 8 of 11 shooting and 10 of 11 from the free throw line. She also added 7 rebounds in the victory.

Bojana Kovacevic finished with 14 points and 6 rebounds while Shavaun Reaney chipped in with 11 points and 3 assists.

The Lancers will be back at home next weekend as they host the Queen's Gaels on Friday night and the RMC Paladins on Saturday at the St. Denis Centre.
