Women's Basketball remains undefeated with 80-54 victory over Laurentian

Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team rounded out their opening weekend of play with a convincing 80-54 victory over the Laurentian Voyageurs on Saturday night at the St. Denis Centre.

With the victory, the #3 ranked Lancers move to 2-0 in conference play.

Against Laurentian, Windsor had another strong first half of play at both ends of the court as they built a 18-9 first quarter lead.

They would extend that margin in the second quarter as there high powered offensive attack outscored the Voyageurs 23-10 en route to the 41-19 halftime lead.

The visitors had no answer for the low post play of Jessica Clemencon and Iva Peklova, as the pair dominated in the paint and on the boards.

Windsor extended their lead in the third quarter as the once again cruised to the 80-54 victory.

For the Lancers, Bojana Kovacevic led the way for the second straight night with 18 points and 5 rebounds. 

Clemencon and Peklova were also very effective as Clemencon finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds while Peklova added 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Miah Langlois chipped in with 8 points while Emily Abbott and Shavaun Reaney both finished with 7 points apiece.

The Lancers will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Ottawa, Ontario to take on the Ottawa Gee Gees and Carleton Ravens.
