Men's Basketball remains unbeaten with 87-82 victory over Ryerson

Box Score The Lancer Men's Basketball team earned a hard fought 87-82 victory over the Ryerson Rams on Saturday night at the St. Denis Centre.

With the victory, the Lancers remain unbeaten in OUA regular season play with a 4-0 record.

Lien Phillip had 15 points and 12 rebounds while Enrico Diloreto added 18 points in the victory.

The Lancers jumped out to a 26-16 lead after the first quarter thanks to some strong interior play from Lien Phillip who was dominant in the post.

The two teams traded baskets in the second quarter with Windsor holding a 45-37 lead at the break.

In the third, the Rams mounted a charge with some streaky outside shooting that allowed them to tie the game at 62-62.

However in the fourth, the Lancers proved to be too much as senior Monty Hardware was red-hot from outside and led his team to the 87-82 victory. Hardware finished with 21 points including 10 in the fourth quarter with the game on the line.

Josh Collins had 12 points and 5 assists while rookie Evan Matthews had a strong game with 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting.

The Lancers will be back in action at home next weekend when they host the Ottawa Gee Gees and Carleton Ravens at the St. Denis Centre.
