Langlois, Lancers roll past Ottawa 81-58 on Friday night

Miah Langlois had 19 points in the victory over Ottawa on Friday night.
Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team defeated the Ottawa Gee Gees 81-58 on Friday night at the St. Denis Centre.

With the victory, the #2 ranked Lancers move to 4-1 in OUA regular season play and 10-1 against CIS opponents this year.

Despite still playing with a shortened bench due to injury, Windsor got 19 points from Miah Langlois as they outdueled the Gee Gees who fell to 3-2 on the season.

On Friday night, the Lancers jumped out to an early lead thanks to some solid outside shooting and interior post play. The home team led 26-11 after one quarter and increased their lead to 24 points at the break, 50-26.

With the victory comfortable in hand, Windsor was able to play all their dressed players as they cruised to the 81-58 win.

For the Lancers, Miah Langlois had a game-high 19 points on 7 of 12 shooting and added 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Jessica Clemencon also had a strong game as she finished with 18 points.

Bojana Kovacevic continued to show off her all-around game as she chipped in with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Iva Peklova added 14 points and 7 rebounds.

Windsor will be back in action on Saturday night as they host the #8 ranked Carleton Ravens at the St. Denis Centre. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
