Women's Basketball powers past Carleton 68-48 at St. Denis Centre

Iva Peklova had a game-high 16 points in the victory over Carleton on Saturday night.
Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team defeated the Carleton Ravens 68-48 on Saturday night at the St. Denis Centre.

With the victory, the #2 ranked Lancers move to 5-1 in OUA regular season play and have now won three straight games.

Windsor got a strong performance from veteran forward Iva Peklova, who had a game-high 16 points and 6 rebounds as they easily defeated the #8 ranked Ravens.

After a tight first quarter that saw the score deadlocked at 18-18, the Lancers pulled away from Carleton in the second as they built an eight point lead at the break.

The second half saw the Lancers continue to dominate at both ends of the court as they built a 20-point lead in the process.

Carleton had no answer for the Windsor's low post game as the home team rolled to the 68-48 victory.

In addition to Peklova's strong performance, the Lancers got 15 points from Bojana Kovacevic and 11 points from Jessica Clemencon. Miah Langlois and Morgan Jean each chipped in with 8 points.

The Lancers will be on the road next weekend as they travel to Kingston, Ontario to take on the Queen's Gaels and RMC Paladins.
