Box Score 2 The #1 ranked Lancer Women's Basketball team opened their season in style with a weekend sweep over the York Lions and Laurentian Voyaguers.

On Friday night, the Lancers came away with a 89-49 victory over the York Lions in Toronto.
Windsor got 27 points from star forward
Jessica Clemencon and 16 points from veteran guard
Bojana Kovacevic as they cruised to the 40-point victory.
After a slow start in the first quarter that saw them down five early, the Lancers exploded to outscore the Lions 49-21 in the middle two quarters to seize control of the game.
They closed out the victory by outscoring York 23-6 in the final quarter en route to the 89-49 win.
York had no answer for the powerful Lancer offense that shot 61% from the field, including 48% from long range.
In addition to the scoring duo of Clemencon and Kovacevic,
Iva Peklova added 13 points and 5 rebounds while
Miah-Marie Langlois finished with 11 points and 4 assists.
On Saturday night, the Lancers took on the Voyageurs and came away with a 80-43 win.
The first half started off very close with a lot of back and forth action at both ends of the court. The Lancers held only a four point lead at the half, 30-26.
Windsor slowly started to pull away in the third quarter and held the Voyageurs to only 17 points in the second half.
In the final quarter, the Lancers sealed the game, scoring 28 of their points in the final ten minutes.
Langlois led the visiting team with 17 points, while Clemencon registered 15 points.
The Lancers will now face the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night in their home opener at the St. Denis Centre. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm.
