Lancers earn 20th victory of the season, overwhelm Gryphons 75-43

Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team earned their 20th victory of the season as they defeated the Guelph Gryphons 75-43 on the road on Wednesday night in Guelph.

With the victory, the Lancers move to 20-1 in conference play and have now won an incredible twenty regular season games in each of the past two seasons.

Windsor had already clinched first place overall in the OUA West Division and have earned a bye through the first round of the OUA playoffs.

On Wednesday night, the Lancers got 17 points from Bojana Kovacevic and 14 points from star Jessica Clemencon as they cruised to the 75-43 victory over Guelph. 

Emily Abbott and Raelyn Prince each had 10 points apiece while Shavaun Reaney added 7 points and a game-high 9 assists.

Windsor
stormed out to an early 25-6 lead behind Kovacevic's 11 points. The Lancers shot 63% in the first quarter and were 4-8 from three point range. 
 
In the second quarter, the Lancers were able to extend their lead by outscoring the Gryphons 21-13 to take a commanding 46-19 halftime lead.
 
The second half was more of the same as the Gryphons were unable to control Windsor's high scoring offensive attack. Turnovers were also a factor as Guelph committed 21 in the game.
 
The Lancers will now round out their regular season on Saturday afternoon when they host the McMaster Marauders at the St. Denis Centre. Please note the special tip off time of 3pm on Saturday.
