Women's Basketball overwhelms Guelph 79-43 at St. Denis Centre

Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team overwhelmed the Guelph Gryphons 79-43 on Wednesday night at the St. Denis Centre.

With the victory, the #3 ranked Lancers move to 16-1 in conference play.

On Wednesday night, the Gryphons hung tough with the Lancers through the first quarter as they battled to keep it close at 14-14.

From there it was all Windsor as the home team outscored the Gryphons 17-7 and 28-4 in the middle two quarters to break the game wide open.

The Lancers built a 40-point lead in the fourth quarter as they cruised to the 79-43 victory.

Jessica Clemencon led all scorers with 15 points and 4 rebounds while Emily Abbott added 14 points and 6 assists.

Bojana Kovacevic chipped in with 12 points while Iva Peklova finished with 10 points.

The Lancers will be back in action on Saturday night when they host the Laurier Golden Hawks. Tip-off is set for 6pm at the St. Denis Centre.
