On Saturday night, both teams got off to slow starts as neither team was able to execute effectively at the offensive end. The overall shooting struggles resulted in a very low scoring quarter which finished tied at 12-12.

The second quarter was more of the same as the game remained a very defensive battle with inconsistent offensive execution. The Golden Hawks were able to built a small lead at the break as they led 29-24.

From there, the Lancers finally snapped out of their funk as they began to knock down some open shots and upped their pressure at the defensive end.

The Golden Hawks lead was quickly reduced to single digits but the visitors continued to hold a slight advantage in the final minutes.

With Laurier ahead 61-56, the Lancers fought back and capped off the comeback with a huge dunk from Nigel Johnson-Tyghter to take the 63-61 victory.
