Lancers dominate Lions in second half to come away with 83-68 win

Williams had 11 points and 12 rebounds against York
Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team defeated the York Lions 83-68 on Saturday night at the St. Denis Centre.

With the victory, the #2 ranked Lancers opened the OUA regular season with two straight victories.

Windsor got a strong performance from veteran forward Jessica Clemencon, who had a game-high 25 points and 14 rebounds as they easily defeated the visiting Lions.

After a tight first half that saw the score deadlocked at 37-37, the Lancers pulled away from York in the final minutes as they built an six point lead at the break.

The second half saw the Lancers hold the Lions to just 25% shooting in the third quarter, while shooting an outstanding 60% on their own.

Windsor continued to dominate at both ends of the court throughout the half as they built a 17-point lead in the process.

York had no answer for the Windsor's tight defense and quick scoring off of Lions' turnovers, as the home team rolled to the 83-68 victory.

In addition to Clemencon's strong performance, the Lancers got 22 points from Miah Langlois and 11 points and 12 rebounds from Korissa Williams.

Windsor will hit the road next weekend as they travel to the nation's capital to take on the Ottawa Gee Gees and Carleton Ravens.
