Lancers suffer first loss of the season, upset by Gee Gees

Box Score The No. 2 ranked Lancer women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season with a 74-58 upset loss to the host Ottawa Gee Gees on Friday night in the nation's capital.

Windsor struggled throughout the first half, as Ottawa's Jenna Gilbert put up 20 points in the first half with some red hot shooting.

Down 42-31 at the break, the Lancers came out strong in the third quarter, matching the Gee Gees and narrowing the deficit to just three points.

However the Gee Gees would not be denied on this night as they came away with the 74-58 win.

Miah-Marie Langlois led the Blue and Gold with 20 points and 5 rebounds while Korissa Williams chipped in 16 points in the loss.

Windsor will look to get back in the win column Saturday night when they play the Carleton Ravens at the Ravens Nest. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm.
