Lancers overwhelm Golden Hawks 72-39 at home

Box Score The Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team overwhelmed the Laurier Golden Hawks 72-39 on Saturday afternoon at the St. Denis Centre.

With the victory, Windsor is now 15-2 in conference play and tied for first place in the OUA West with the Western Mustangs. The Lancers also have one game in hand on the Mustangs. 

Against Laurier, the Lancers were outstanding offensively from the opening tip-off as they took a commanding 20-12 lead after the first quarter.

Windsor shot solid 54% in the first half compared to Laurier's 26%, to go up 38-23 at the break. 

The Lancers were dominant on the glass as they outrebounded the Hawks 52-39 and held them to only 5 points in the third quarter.

Miah Langlois led the scoring attack with 18 points while Bojana Kovacevic and Jessica Clemencon each finished with 10 points. Clemencon also added 8 rebounds in the victory.

The Lancers will be back in action on Sunday as they host a re-scheduled game against the McMaster Marauders at 2pm at the St. Denis Centre.
