Lancers win tenth straight, overpower Waterloo 89-40 on Wednesday night

Box Score The No. 2 ranked Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball team continued their winning ways as they overpowered the Waterloo Warriors 89-40 on Wednesday night at the St. Denis Centre.

The win marks the tenth straight victory for the Lancers as they sit in first place in the OUA West division with a record of 17-2.

Windsor completely controlled the game from the opening tip and quickly built a 22-9 lead after the first quarter. Jessica Clemencon had a trememdous opening frame as she scored 11 of her 24 points in the first ten minutes.

The Lancers continued to dominate both ends of the court as they led by twenty at the break, 37-17. The home team controlled the boards as well as they outrebounded Waterloo 30-14 in the half.

The second half was more of the same as Windsor extended their lead to 50 points and easily cruised to the 89-40 win.

Everyone on coach Chantal Vallee's squad saw time on the court, as rookie guard Jocelyn LaRocque finished with 10 points in the victory.

Morgan Jean had another strong game for the Blue and Gold as she chipped in with 10 points, as did Bojana Kovacevic.

Iva Peklova had a strong night on the boards as she finished with 10 rebounds.  The Lancers out-rebounded the Warriors 59-32, and shot a strong 47% from the field, compared to Waterloo's 25%.

The Lancers will now head to Waterloo on Saturday to take on the Laurier Golden Hawks. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
