Box Score The Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball team continued their winning ways on Wednesday night with a hard fought 82-72 win over the Waterloo Warriors at the St. Denis Centre.
Windsor came out strong on the shoulders of
Lien Phillip who contributed the team's first eight points of the night, in addition to five rebounds during that span. After the quick start, the Lancers cooled off a bit to lead 19-10 at the first quarter break.
To open the second quarter, Waterloo came out on a 7-0 run to narrow the margin to 19-17 with eight minutes left in the quarter.
Ryan Christie continued his strong play for the Lancers to again give Windsor the lead. The Warriors countered with three three-pointers from Srdjan Pejicic to bring the game to 32-30 Lancers at the half.
The third quarter was neck and neck with Waterloo regaining the lead after back-to-back threes with 2:45 remaining, but the Lancers eventually regained the lead at 54-52 heading into the fourth.
In the game's final frame,
Josh Collins and
Jahmal McQueen made sure the Lancers pulled away as they were both aggressive on the offensive end to help the Lancers earn the ten point win.
Collins paced the offense with 21 points and 9 assists, while McQueen finished the game with 17 points. Phillip finished with the game's only double-double, 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Windsor now heads to McMaster on Saturday to face the Marauders at 2:00pm. The game will be broadcast live on TVCogeco 11 Windsor.
