Box Score The Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball team turned in an impressive performance on Wednesday night as they defeated the McMaster Marauders 78-64 at the St. Denis Centre.
With the victory, the Lancers move to 6-3 in regular season play and are back in the thick of West Division race as the second half of the season begins.
Windsor was led by point guard
Josh Collins who finished with 19 points and 6 assists and forward
Jahmal McQueen who added 16 points and 5 rebounds.
Ryan Christie, a Windsor transfer who previously played at McMaster also had a strong outing as he chipped in with 7 points and 7 rebounds.
After an even first quarter, the Lancers pulled ahead in the second and led 29-25 at the break. McQueen and Collins combined for some key buckets from inside and outside the put the home team ahead.
With the Lancers still holding the lead after three quarters, Head Coach
Chris Oliver's squad took over in the fourth quarter. Windsor's pressure defense caused a number of McMaster turnovers as they increased their lead to 18 points late and cruised to the 78-64 win.
Lien Phillip added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the victory while
Enrico Diloreto returned from injury and chipped in with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Lancers will be back in action at home this Saturday as they host the Guelph Gryphons at 8pm at the St. Denis Centre.
