Box Score WINDSOR, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers women's volleyball team put up a strong fight but came up just short against their rivals the Western Mustangs on Wednesay night, losing a heartbreaker that went the distance 3-2 (26-24, 20-25, 25-17, 20-25,15-13).

Kaila Seguin led the way with a game-high 19 kills and 20.5 points for the Lancers (2-7). Stephanie Krueter led the Mustangs (6-4) with 18 kills and 20 points to help her team to victory and with that a move to fifth-place in the OUA standings.
After a tight first set that the Mustangs were able to steal, the Lancers notched the match at 1-1 by taking the second set by a score of 25-23.
The squads would trade the third and fourth sets, setting up a deciding fifth. The Lancers look poised to earn their third win of the year, taking an 11-7 lead in the fifth set. However, it was not to be as the visitors went on a 4-1 run to come within a point and would continue streaking to victory.
Brianna Balzer added 11 kills while garnering a strong .429 kill percentage, and
Chelsey Drouillard tallied a game-high 21 digs in a losing cause for the Lancers. Windsor worked at a .202 hitting efficiency, compared to .166 from the Mustangs.
Rookie setter Gabie Miletic also had a strong performance for Windsor as she came on in relief of injured starter
Jessica Shepley.
The women will look to end the first half of the season on a winning note this Saturday at the University of Ottawa, where the Lancers will travel to take on the Gee-Gees. Windsor is back at the St. Denis Centre on January 19 when they play host to the RMC Paladins.
