Lancers look for 7th win at Queen's

WINDSOR, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers women's basketball team will look to maintain its undefeated record this Friday evening, when it will travel to Kingston, Ont. to take on the Queen's Gaels. 

The nationally No. 1 ranked Lancers (6-0) have rolled through its competition over the last three weekends, defeating its last five opponents by more than 20 points.  Windsor's last and only close contest came on opening night, when they recorded a 58-53 win over Carleton.  Last weekend, the women dominated the Ryerson Rams and Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday and Saturday respectively.  The women have not been defeated in their last 22 regular season matches dating back to last season. 

Hometown native Korissa Williams leads the Lancers in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game which places her third in the conference.  Jessica Clemencon (St. Rambert, France) is second on the Lancers with 15.2 points per game.  Both Williams and Clemencon reached double-digits in scoring last weekend against the Rams and Blues, while Miah-Marie Langlois (Windsor) recorded a triple-double against Toronto with 13 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. 

The Queen's Gaels (3-3) are currently tied for third place in the OUA East division, and have dropped two of its past three contest against West division opponents.  Last weekend, the Gaels lost a close game to the undefeated Brock Badgers 53-49, but were able to claim an 80-67 win over McMaster to move back to .500 coming into Friday night's game.  Queen's is led by Liz Boag, who is averaging 13.7 points per game so far this season. 

The Lancers have an opportunity to move to 7-0 heading into the holiday break at the top of the OUA West standings with a win on Friday.  The Gaels are currently tied with two other squads for third place in the East, and are just one victory out of first heading into their weekend's matches. 

Windsor will head to Queen's on Friday evening to do battle with the Gaels.  Game-time is set for 6:00 p.m.
