Windsor lances the Blues, streak to 5-1

Jessica Clemencon recorded 21 points in Windsor's win over Toronto on Saturday.
Box Score TORONTO- Jessica Clemencon tallied a game-high 21 points, leading the Windsor Lancers women's basketball team to a 70-49 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday evening.

Clemencon recorded seven rebounds while Korissa Williams and Jocelyn LaRocque each added 13 points in the win for Windsor (5-1).

For the second straight night, the women jumped out to an early lead and took a 22-11 advantage after ten minutes of play. Jocelyn LaRocque led all players with 10 of her 13 points scored in the first half, and Windsor took a 10-point lead into the locker rooms.

Toronto found more offence in the third quarter, but Windsor remained potent from the field, outscoring the Blues by five and taking a healthy lead into the final period. From there, the women cruised to their fifth-consecutive victory.

Miah-Marie Langlois added seven rebounds and six assists as well as eight points. Rachel Sider recorded a team-high 13 points in a losing cause for the Blues.

The Lancers will return to the St. Denis Centre next Friday and Saturday to host the Algoma Thunderbirds and Laurentian Voyageurs. Tip-off for both games will be at 6:00 p.m.
