Box Score OTTAWA- The Windsor Lancers women's basketball team rebounded from their first loss in 38 regular season games in dominant fashion, recording an 88-64 victory over the CIS No. 10 ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees and Montpetit Hall on Saturday night.
One night after the women lost their first conference game since November of 2011, it was business as usual for the three-time defending national champions.
Miah-Marie Langlois recorded a game-high 22 points and added 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.
Korissa Williams and
Jessica Clemencon added 20 and 17 respectively for the Lancers, who move to 1-1 on the season while sending a statement along the way.
The women shot a formidable 50.8% from the floor, improving that from 33% one night earlier. Windsor was 9-of-15 from beyond the arc, and outrebounded Ottawa 39-34.
Angela Tilk and Catherine Traer each dropped 12 points in a losing cause for the Gee-Gees. Windsor used two superb middle quarters, outscoring the hosts 53-28 to help spur them to victory.
The Lancers will return to the St. Denis Centre next weekend for their home opener. The women will welcome the York Lions next Friday evening for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off. Before the game there will be a special ceremony commemorating the women's third-straight CIS banner.
