Box Score WINDSOR, Ont.- After watching their 2012-13 national championship banner rise to the St. Denis Centre rafters, the Windsor Lancers women's basketball team notched a dominant 82-29 victory over the York Lions on Friday evening in their home opener.

Jessica Clemencon and Miah-Marie Langlois each recorded a game-high 14 points to help Windsor to its second straight victory and 2-1 record. Korissa Williams tallied 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while Clemencon added eight boards and shot 78% from the field.

Sophomore Caitlyn Longmuir added 11 points off the bench, and rookie Emily Prevost picked up nine points and six rebounds against the Lions, who drop to 1-2 on the season. York was led by Erin Sarapnickas who grabbed a team-high 11 points coming off the bench for the visitors, who shot just 16.4% on the evening. Windsor shot 43.8% from the field and outrebounded York 56-39.

The Lancers held York to single-digits in all but one quarter of play, including the second period in which the Lions were only able to muster three points and went into the half down 38-10. It was only more of the same from the three-time CIS champions in the final two stanzas, as their defence forced 23 Lions turnovers overall while they limited their own give-aways to nine.

The women return to the St. Denis Centre on Saturday evening to host the Queen's Gaels who suffered their first loss of the season on Friday evening, losing to Western 69-60. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. and the game will be available at GoLancers.TV
