Lancers make history with win over Badgers

Box Score ST. CATHARINES, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers women's basketball team made history on Saturday afternoon at Brock, where they defeated the Badgers 62-45 in their final game of the regular season.

Jessica Clemencon had a game-high 15 points and added seven rebounds, while Korissa Williams grabbed 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals for the Lancers, who after being held to 33 points and being down by four points after three quarters, exploded in the final 10 minutes of the contest.  Windsor would score 29 points in the fourth quarter, while limiting the host Badgers to just eight, en route to the win.

With the victory, the Lancers (21-0) become the first team in OUA women's basketball history to go undefeated in the regular season since conference moved to the 22-game schedule.  Previously, Windsor and the McMaster Marauders have put together 21-1 campaigns.  The 2012 Lancers defeated their opponents by 10-plus points in all but five games this season, and also notched their second win in a row against the second-place Badgers, who are currently ranked as the No. 8 team in the country.

The No. 1 Lancers will host the OUA West semi-finals next Saturday, where they will play the winner of the mid-week quarter-finals.
